🔵 1. Notre Dame — 2-0

Notre Dame takes over the No. 1 spot in my rankings after an impressive start to the season. The Irish dominated Rice 52-0 in their home opener and continue to look like one of the most complete teams in the country scoring 93 points over 2 weeks.

Moving from No. 3 to No. 1 is a big jump, but Notre Dame has earned it in my rankings.

🟠 2. Texas — 2-0

Texas moves up two spots after arguably the biggest win of Week 2.

The Longhorns overcame Ohio State in a wild 24-23 comeback, erasing a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit. That type of victory can completely change the outlook of a season.

Texas jumps from No. 4 to No. 2.

🔴 3. Georgia — 2-0

Georgia drops one spot despite remaining undefeated. The Bulldogs continue to look like one of the most talented teams in the country and remain firmly in the national championship conversation.

The Bulldogs' Week 3 matchup will provide another opportunity to prove themselves.

🟡 4. LSU — 2-0

LSU is one of the biggest movers in this week's rankings.

The Tigers jump from No. 8 to No. 4 after another convincing victory. LSU has looked strong early, but the upcoming matchup with Ole Miss will tell us much more about where this team belongs nationally.

🔴 5. Indiana — 2-0

Indiana stays at No. 5.

The Hoosiers continue to take care of business and have established themselves as a team that deserves serious national attention. They haven't given me a reason to move them out of the top five.

🟠 6. Miami — 2-0

Miami climbs one spot from No. 7 to No. 6.

The Hurricanes remain undefeated and continue to look like one of the ACC's teams to watch. With conference play approaching, Miami has a chance to make an even bigger statement.

🔴 7. Ohio State — 1-1

This is one of the biggest changes in my rankings.

Ohio State falls from No. 1 to No. 7 following the heartbreaking loss to Texas. The Buckeyes are still extremely talented, but a loss after holding a 20-point fourth-quarter lead has to have an impact on the rankings.

The good news for Ohio State? There is still plenty of time to climb back.

🔴 8. Ole Miss — 2-0

Ole Miss moves up one spot to No. 8.

The Rebels have looked impressive to begin the season and now have a massive opportunity against LSU. A win in that game could completely change the SEC picture.

🟤 9. Texas A&M — 2-0

Texas A&M continues to move in the right direction.

The Aggies climb from No. 10 to No. 9 and remain undefeated. The SEC schedule will eventually provide much tougher tests, but A&M has handled its business so far.

🔴 10. Alabama — 2-0

Alabama moves into the Top 10 after jumping from No. 12.

The Crimson Tide took care of Kentucky and remain undefeated. Alabama still has plenty of opportunities to prove itself against SEC competition.

🔵 11. BYU — 2-0

BYU continues to climb.

The Cougars move from No. 15 to No. 11 after starting the season 2-0. BYU has quickly become one of the teams I am watching closely in the Big 12.

🔴 12. USC — 3-0

USC is the only team in my Top 25 with a 3-0 record.

The Trojans move up from No. 14 to No. 12 and continue to put points on the board. The question now is how they will perform once the Big Ten schedule gets tougher.

🔴 13. Texas Tech — 2-0

Texas Tech stays at No. 13.

The Red Raiders are undefeated and have already shown plenty of potential. Their upcoming matchup against Houston is one of the games I will have my eye on this weekend.

🔵 14. Penn State — 2-0

Penn State moves up two spots from No. 16.

The Nittany Lions remain undefeated and continue to quietly build their résumé. The Big Ten schedule will eventually give Penn State some major tests.

🟠 15. Tennessee — 2-0

Tennessee jumps from No. 18 to No. 15.

The Volunteers handled Georgia Tech and continue to look like a dangerous SEC team. Tennessee has plenty of opportunities ahead to move even higher.

🔴 16. SMU — 2-0

SMU drops one spot despite remaining undefeated.

The Mustangs have been impressive early and now face Louisville in a game that could have major implications for the ACC race.

🔴 17. Utah — 2-0

Utah makes a three-spot jump from No. 20 to No. 17.

The Utes dominated Arkansas and continue to look like a team that could make some noise in the Big 12.

🟡 18. Iowa — 2-0

Iowa moves from No. 21 to No. 18.

The Hawkeyes remain undefeated and have already shown the physical style of football that has become synonymous with Iowa.

🔵 19. Michigan — 2-0

Michigan makes the biggest debut of the week.

The Wolverines were not ranked last week, but a 17-10 victory over Oklahoma gets them into my Top 20.

Michigan's performance against the Sooners was enough for me to put them at No. 19. Now they need to build on that win.

🟡 20. Missouri — 2-0

Missouri moves from No. 23 to No. 20.

The Tigers are undefeated and continue to put themselves in position to make some noise in the SEC.

🟡 21. Oregon — 1-1

Oregon takes one of the biggest falls in my rankings.

The Ducks drop from No. 6 all the way to No. 21 after losing to Oklahoma State.

Oregon still has plenty of talent, but a loss like that this early in the season comes with a significant ranking penalty.

🔴 22. Houston — 2-0

Houston remains at No. 22.

The Cougars are undefeated and have been dominant early. Their upcoming game against Texas Tech should provide a much better test of where they stand.

🔴 23. Louisville — 1-1

Louisville moves up one spot despite being 1-1.

The Cardinals have an opportunity to make a major statement against SMU this week.

🔴 24. Oklahoma — 1-1

Oklahoma takes a major fall after losing to Michigan.

The Sooners drop from No. 11 to No. 24. At 1-1, Oklahoma still has plenty of season left, but the loss puts pressure on the Sooners to respond quickly.

🟠 25. Virginia — 2-0

Virginia holds onto the final spot in the rankings.

The Cavaliers remain undefeated at 2-0 and stay at No. 25 for another week.

 Biggest Risers

Michigan: NR → No. 19
The Wolverines make their debut after beating Oklahoma.

LSU: No. 8 → No. 4
A four-spot jump puts LSU firmly into the Top 5.

BYU: No. 15 → No. 11
The undefeated Cougars continue climbing.

Utah: No. 20 → No. 17
A strong Week 2 performance earns the Utes three spots.

 Biggest Fallers

Oregon: No. 6 → No. 21
The Ducks take the biggest hit after their loss.

Oklahoma: No. 11 → No. 24
The Sooners fall 13 spots after losing to Michigan.

Ohio State: No. 1 → No. 7
The Buckeyes fall six spots after the loss to Texas.

 Week 3: What To Watch

The rankings are already starting to take shape, but Week 3 could create even more movement.

LSU vs. Ole Miss could have major implications near the top of the SEC.

Michigan State vs. Notre Dame gives the No. 1 Irish another opportunity to prove themselves.

Florida State vs. Alabama gives the Crimson Tide another major test.

And Texas Tech vs. Houston could have major implications for the Big 12.

Final Word

After just two weeks, there is already plenty of movement in the SYG Blogs Sports Top 25.

Notre Dame is now my No. 1 team, Texas rises to No. 2, LSU crashes into the Top 5, Michigan enters the rankings, while Oregon and Oklahoma take major falls.

But this is college football — and with conference play approaching, these rankings are likely to change plenty of times before the season reaches its final stretch.
